“Epic 18, the Imperial, California-based group began the way most bands do: a bunch of superheroes realized that they also play instruments. After long days of saving the Imperial Valley from almost certain demise the Epic 18 crew needed a way to blow off some steam. Trying to figure out what kind of music superheroes play they realized that it needed to be energetic while instilling a sense of purpose to the listener which led them to create a group that specializes in ska, punk, jazz, and everything in between.

They’re an eclectic mix of musicians with influences including The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, The Specials, Charles Mingus, and Doc Watson to name a few. A sense of humor meets philosophy and the end result is good times had by all.”
